The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department, ensuring high-quality service delivery, efficient technician scheduling, and excellent customer satisfaction. This role involves supervising HVAC technicians, managing workflow, resolving customer issues, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and supporting business growth through effective leadership and operational management. 

 

Operations Manager duties: 

  • Oversee daily operations of installation and service teams.

  • Ensure job scheduling, dispatching, and project planning are efficient and timely.

  • Monitor workflow and adjust resources as needed to meet deadlines and customer demands.

  • Hire, train, and manage HVAC technicians, installers, and administrative support staff.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and promote professional development.

  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely communication and quality service delivery.

  • Address and resolve customer issues or complaints promptly and professionally.

  • Review completed work to ensure it meets company and industry standards.

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and job costing for HVAC operations.

  • Monitor expenses and labor costs to maximize profitability.

  • Track KPIs and performance metrics to drive operational improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, building codes, and local licensing requirements.

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.

  • Maintain records of inspections, permits, and regulatory compliance.

  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost savings, and service expansion.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term business goals.

  • Implement new systems and technologies to enhance productivity.

What YOU will bring:

  • 5+ Years residential HVAC experience, management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational leadership skills to lead and grow a team of technicians.
  • Strong technical background in diagnostic skills on all residential and light commercial equipment.
  • Ability to train proper technical diagnostic techniques on all equipment from basic to high efficiency inverter systems.
  • Great attitude, high energy, great communication skills, sales driven.
  • Strong computer skills (word, excel, adobe, etc.)
  • Valid drivers’ license and ability to pass background test and drug screen.
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and work outdoors

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Stand/Sit: Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of the time
  • May be required to bend, climb (Stairs/Ladders), do repetitive motion, kneel, reach, squat, stand, crawl, walk, and run
  • May be required to drive and sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to maneuver up to 25 lb. by lifting, carrying, pushing

PAY TRANSPARENCY: 

  

The annual pay opportunity for this role ranges from $105K-$125K DOE. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Other rewards may include incentive plan opportunities and annual bonus eligibility.
